Premier League Player of the Season All Time (Since 1994-95)
The English Premier League’s most outstanding player for each season receives a special award. The authority has provided this award since the 1994-95 campaign. The award is actually named Premier League Player of the Year or Player of the Season. Or in short form, you can say EPL “POTY” or “POTS”. Members of “football’s governing bodies, the media, as well as fans” choose the winner for each campaign. Although the winning trophy isn’t a Golden Ball, many fans may search for it as the Premier League Golden Ball winners list. GoalTheBall provides EPL Player of the Season award winners list for all time.
As of now, 26 different footballers have grabbed this award on 30 occasions. Only 4 players have won the prize twice and they are Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic, and Kevin De Bruyne. Henry was the first player to win this award twice. CR7 is the only player to win the award back-to-back. Alan Shearer was the first-ever winner of the mentioned award. And the award’s latest winner is City’s Phil Foden. In different cycles, the authority branded the award as Carling Player of the Year, Barclaycard Player of the Year, Barclays Player of the Season, and currently EA Sports Player of the Season.
