Ligue 1 Prize Money Distribution
There are 3 portions in the entire prize sum. All 18 clubs taking part in the league campaign receive an equal share of the money. This portion includes 50% of the entire sum. The league authority divides the portion to all the clubs without considering their performance or popularity. 30% allocated for the performance-based portion. The winning team gets the highest sum of money followed by the runner-up. Going down all the way, the relegated sides take the least amount of money. The remaining 20% depends on a club’s popularity, fanbase, and media profile. More popular clubs’ like PSG, Lyon, Marseille, etc take the bigger bites while newly promoted sides do get a smaller percentage.
