Serie A’s total prize money for the latest season is €1.5 Billion. It’s a gigantic sum of money. The amount was €1.1 Billion during the 2021-22 campaign but increased during 2022-23. The same sum was awarded in 2023-24 and is expected to be provided as a reward in 2024-25. The authority divides the total prize sum into 3 portions. All 20 participating clubs get an equal share of 50% of the entire amount. It has no relation with rankings or performances. So, there goes €750m and each team receives 37.5 million Euros.

20% of the sum is based on every team’s popularity as well as fan base. Generally, the giant clubs get the bigger percentage for instance the likes of Juventus, Milan, Inter, Napoli, etc. And the likes of clubs that are newcomers generally take a smaller bite. Clubs like Lazio, Atalanta, Fiorentina, Torino, etc often have to pleased with a moderate bite. Now, the remaining 30% is what you get based on your performance on the field. The governing body divides 15% of the entire sum based on the concerned season’s performance & table position while the rest 15% depends on the club’s overall performance & results since 1946.

As of the latest season, a total of 225m Euros are given as the prize money excluding accumulated results based €225m more. The share of percentage and the amount are based upon league table position. The Serie A winning club receives a ludicrous €32.6m which is 14.5% of the budgeted sum. That means, Inter Milan bagged 32.6 Million Euros for winning the Italian league in 2023-24. Meanwhile, the runner-up side takes 12% or in mathematical numbers €27m. The percent and amount for the clubs finishing 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th are: €23m (10.25%), €19.7m (8.75%), €17.4m (7.75%), and €15.2m (6.75%) respectively. Clubs which get relegated takes the slightest bite with just 1.5%, 1%, and 0.5% respectively for the 18th, 18th, and 20th spot.
